Sorrento Bus Confusion- WWYD

I'm a week out from and Italy trip, so I am currently down to managing the fine details, which includes bus stops/bus schedules/etc.

I will be arriving via the Campania Express. There are a few different routes to my villa, but the shortest one and the one most convenient to when I will be arriving is my preference. The thing I am struggling with is...I have a bus transfer. No big deal. The issue is....upon reviewing the time tables....the 2 buses, the one I am transferring from and the one I am transferring to, arrive at the stop at the exact same time.

Now, I know this is all relative and buses can run behind. But...who is to say which bus will be the one that runs behind? Or both. Or neither.

My other options involve more walking and/or like an hour wait after I arrive to Sorrento. If it were you, which would you go with?

Also, a point of curiosity- it seems there are many more bus stops than the time tables specify. Do the buses stop at all the stops, or do you have to request a stop?

I'm just back from northern Italy, where I took a lot of buses. There are many more stops than are on the schedules, and sometimes the driver will even stop when someone asks them to do so, with no bus stop in sight. The safest thing to do is to tell the driver when you get on the bus where you'd like to get off and ask them to let you know when you're there!

If you're in contacting with the owners of the villa, you might ask their opinion on the best way for you to get there.

Malemay, you aren't giving us the website of the bus connection you are intending to use so we can't see schedules. You also aren't giving us the address of your hotel so we don't know just how far it is from the train station.

I guess I would ask that if you are coming into the Sorrento train station, what's preventing you from just taking a cab to your accommodation if your hotel is some distance away?

As well as just getting from train station to hotel, how do you intend to travel from hotel to, say, ferry ports, during your stay?

Kathy- it would be SITA. I am looking at bus 5070, leaving at 16:10. It is due to arrive at Colli St. Pietro at 16:35.

The other bus 5070, headed in the other direction is due to pick up at Colli St. Pietro, also at 16:35.

As far as why I am not using a cab...well.....cabs are expensive.

And as far as other transportation- I already have that all figured out. With the other transportation to and from town, I am a bit more flexible, so I already have those trips sorted.

Have you asked your hotel what they advise? What is the address of your hotel?
