My wife and I are trying to figure out what clothes we should pack for an upcoming trip to this area in mid-October. Would we need shorts or capris? Are sandals appropriate? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
We have visited Sorrento in May and October over the last 30 years. Although it can be sunny and warm during the day it is usually cooler in the evenings. However, it was colder than usual last October and had to buy a scarf and gloves (no real hardship!) for the evenings and put the heating on in our rental apartment. Hoping that it was a blip and back to normal this year. Felt sorry for the visitors in summer clothes and shoes, they looked very uncomfortable. I alway take thin layers so that I can add or take off as necessary eg cami top or T shirt under a long sleeved shirt/blouse with jeans or linen trousers. I wear black leather trainer shoes for sightseeing. A light jacket or woollen cardigan for the evening usually suffices. The OH wears cotton trousers (pants) with a T shirt under a long sleeved shirt so that he too can adjust accordingly. The local people will be in their autumn wardrobe. After all it is autumn!
