My family will be in Rome in early April and want to add another 3-4 days in Sorrento. We'd plan on day trips to Pompeii, Capri, and Amalfi. (I've been to all of these places, decades ago, but it will be a first for my spouse and teenagers.) Will those day trips be feasible in the first half of April? I know it won't be warm, but that's OK with us-- we just want to make sure buses, ferries, etc. will be running. Thanks for any advice.
Commenting as a reminder to follow this post. We will be there the last 2 weeks of April and we're still unsure about the ferry schedules. I haven't looked in a couple of weeks, but at that time the schedules for this year weren't up yet.
If you have four nights, you’ll have a full day for each day trip, which is what you will need.
Everything should be running in April.

Everything will be running in April and it is generally warm and pleasant and crowded. Easter, spring break, holidays on 25 April and 1 May. Lots of crowds.
Hello! I will also be in Sorrento in April and I'm wondering what is the best way to get there from Naples. I am staying on Lake Como and trying to figure out the best way to go and it appears to be through Naples.. Any info would be very helpful! Thank you!

and my standard recommend to reach out to Elizabeth at Blue Star in Positano for planning needs
rubisca11, you can use the Circumvesuviana train (which runs all year) to get to Pompeii
Ferries run to Capri (weather permitting) all year from Sorrento. They CAN cancel due to unsafe seas but it's more rare than not.
Ferries should be running to Amalfi in early April. SITA buses, which also run all year, will be in force as well.
Schedules, prices and whatnot for all of the above are on the previously linked "Sorrento Insider" website. In general, it's a pretty good site to have on hand if staying in Sorrento.
