Sorrento Accomodations

We will be in Sorrento for 3 evenings June 2012. Since the 2012 RS Italy book is not out yet can someone recommend a hotel/BB in the 75-100 Euro/night range with a view within walking distance to public transportation (bus) or town. We will not have a car.
Thanks

I just booked Hotel Sorrento City www.sorrentocity.com
It got really good reviews from the folks on the RS helpline and also on Tripadvisor. 100 euro per night, includes breakfast, it's in town..close to train. I hope it's nice! We'll be there in Oct.

Hotel Sorrento City is located five minutes walk to the train/ bus station. Right on the main street of the town, Corsa Italia. But don't have any view.

Thank you for responding. I've seen mixed reviews on Hotel Desiree and Hotel Elios. It looks like bumping up to La Tonnarello or il Nido may be worth pursuing. Any comments?

We've stayed at La Tonnarella 3 times and really like it a lot. Many people have also highly recommended Il Nido on the Helpline.

Check Casa Dominova. You can find them on booking.com and other sites. It's about a ten minute walk from the train station and close to many restaurants and shops. It's a pretty basic hotel which serves breakfast on their patio. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They also own a restaurant which is excellent. We ate there all three nights of our stay in Sorrento. I think the price would fit your range. It seems they're not taking reservations that far in advance but you can check the comments of others who have stayed there which will help you in your decision making.

Hi Patricia I always have to put in my two cents for Hotel Sorrento City. Great staff, good breakfast, 5 minute walk to bus and train and close to main shopping area. It doesn`t have a view per se, being on one of the main streets and can get a little noisy, but we enjoyed sitting out on our balacony watching the street scene below and having a glass of wine. It really was perfect for home basing-so easy to get anywhere without a car. We stayed there for six nights in 2009 and could not have been more pleased. Check it out Cheers Mike

We're heading to Sorrento next month. Check out Il Nido. It is very economical and gets fantastic reviews on tripadvisor.
