I have 2 questions...Has anyone stayed at Palazzo Guargatic in Sorrento?
Does anyone have a good recommendation for a hotel or B&B in Sorrento that is moderately priced?
A couple of sites (Venere.com and TripAdvisor) to check out for hotels with reviews.

Here are the TA reviews for Palazzo Guardati
Thank you Linda for your reply. It has been most helpful.
We stayed at "Ulisse Deluxe Hostel" last summer in Sorrento (it is not like a "hostel" more like a 4 star hotel with huge rooms and bathrooms!). The price was very reasonable too.
Check out Hotel Il Nido, it has come highly recommended. We will be staying there for 3 nights in early October. Rates are good for room with balcony!
Hi Schomberg,
I also stayed at Ulisse Deluxe Hostel (http://www.ulissedeluxe.com/hostel.htm) and loved it. It's a great location and a great bargain. It probably was one of the nicest places we stayed (marble floors, great buffet breakfast, and cleaning service). It was only approx 65-70 EUR a night. Definitely something to look into.
Have a great trip!
schomberg,
You might have a look at Hotel Desiree in Sorrento. It's not luxurious but is very clean and comfortable. It's not right in the city centre, so is somewhat quieter, but I found it an easy walk to get to the centre or the rail station (although with luggage, a Taxi would be a good idea).
Happy travels!
Another vote for Il Nido. Moderately priced, with a nice breakfast and unbeatable service. Spectacular views of Naples Bay and Vesuvius. Free bus service (believe me when I say you don't want to drive in Sorrento). Easy access to public bus service for Amalfi. Only downside is no pool.
Schomberg, i booked ulysse deluxe hostel for my upcoming trip to sorrento this september. The reviews on tripadvisor and the price are great! From the pictures it sure does not look like the hostel i have stayed at!
We have stayed at the Rick recommended Hotel del Corso in the heart of town, very pleasant, terrace for breakfast, AC, quick easy walk to train and bus stations, and the port for ferries to islands (Capri,Ischia, etc.)
Also love Settimo Cielo on Via Capo at the far end of town from train station. Great views, pool overlooking the bay and the rest of Sorrento, plenty of fine choices for breakfast. Bus service is great. If you have major baggage, the hotel will arrange a cab for you. Their list price is Euro 155, but with Rick and cash discount you can get it down to just under Euro 130 for a double.
Enjoy your trip.
Il Nido is a great place to stay and very reasonably priced for the area. www.ilnido.it
