Staying in Soriano Nel Cimino, for five days. What is recommended? to make the most out of the trip..should we fly into Milan, rent a car, visit Lake Como, drive down to Parma, Modena, Bologna, Montepulciano,, Soriano Nel Cimino and then fly out of Rome? Or Parma, Modena, Montepulciano are drivable day trips from Soriano Nel Cimino if we fly into Rome and rent a car

We are planning on staying there also on our next trip around Sept 2017. It would be great to see and hear about your experience there and things to do, day trips, etc.

I think you need a separate base around Modena for your visits to Parma and Bologna, which would be too much backtracking once you've moved on. If you do start in Milan and Lake Como, then the first half of the trip is easy by train and you could pick up the car upon departing the Modena region. Either Google Maps or www.viamichelin.com will help you estimate driving time.
