My wife and I plan to take a bus from Sorento along the Amalfi Coast. Is it possible to take our luggage along and then o/n Vietri Sul Mare or are we better off going back to Sorento & taking the ferry to Salerno the next day? Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Well, there would be quite a long journey to go all the way there and then back the next day.....I don't believe that there is a ferry to Salerno from Sorrento, but you would just need to take a bus to Amalfi and then to Vietri (in the direction of Salerno). If you were hoping to tour AND carry your bags, that might be difficult either way. If you wanted to tour, I would suggest going to Vietri the next day, maybe even hire a driver for the transfer, because 2 buses and not knowing exactly where you are headed may be overwhelming......
I was going to suggest another way, but man, every other way is still very complicated....

Thank you for your input. Maybe taking the Mondo Amalfi RT tour & remaining in Sorrento again overnight would be best. How do you feel about the multiple stop ferry to Solerno? We would like to visit Paestum & the WWII museum.

Were you trying to do Salerno and Paestum from Sorrento? That would definitely be a LONG and possibly VERY DIFFICULT day trip, I doubt that you would be able to get to the WWII cemetery (correct me if I am assuming wrong about the WWII museum that you are speaking of) and back to Sorrento that day......
Could you possibly clarify the days/nights you have allotted to this area? It would be easier to help you plan when we know what time you have available and what sites you hope to see in that time......
I know I have passed the cemetery frequently while on the train southbound from Salerno, I am not certain that there is an extremely close train station if you were hoping to use that mode of transport.....
my memories are from 7 years ago, but I will be there in May and can clarify if nobody else knows specifics!

I apologize I did not make myself clear. We originally planned to do a round trip tour bus of the Amalfi Coast leaving & returning Sorrento. Then the next day we would take a ferry to Solerno and from there go to Paestum. I have been told there was a small WWII museum. We would overnight in Solerno, due to Vieti Sul Mare being to difficult to get there. Thank you for you for your input.

An online search reveals that there is a WWII museum in Salerno, focusing on the landing.
You can take your luggage on the bus from Sorrento to Vietri sul Mare, you may have to change buses in Amalfi town, or take a taxi.
You can get from Vietri sul Mare to Paestum by bus but you will have to change buses in Salerno. Perhaps make Salerno your base and go to Vietri sul Mare as a daytrip?
