Did you camera not come with a battery charger? I have a Sony Cybershot, but it's an older one and uses AA batteries, I just bring extra. I've also purchased rechargable batteries and bring the charger and my adapter to charge them over night.

So, to answer your question, all you need is the cradle the battery goes into for charging - that you use here in the US, and an adaptor to plug into the wall.

The camera battery and cradle will be fine with the electric current in Italy, but you need the adapter to fit into the wall socket in your hotels.

I'd also highly recommend that you purchase an extra battery here and bring it with you, fully charged. There is nothing like taking pictures and having the battery die on you midway through the day with no backup!! Depending on how many flash pictures you take, you will use the battery charge quite quickly.

Jo,

It would help if you could provide more information on which Sony Camera you're using, and what type of batteries it is designed to use? I'm assuming these are rechargeaable?

If you could provide some details, it would help to offer more specific information.

Our cybershot has a converter built into the power cord that handled all European voltages. Just needed plug adapters.

I also found it worth it to pop on ebay, and buy an extra battery.
