I am planning to travel to Pompeii from Perugia. I have been looking around at the best choices, but am getting confused as to which station is best to arrive at. Is Pompeii Scavi the best choice for coming into the site? Or should I book a train to Naples then take the Circumvesuviana to the pompeii station?
Additionally, I will be travelling on my own. Is it recommended that I buy tickets in advance for the park and a tour? How long do trip to pompeii generally last?
