2 nights in Rome and Florence

Hi,

I'm doing a solo trip in a month to Rome and Florence

I'm looking for recommendation for both Florence and Rome - airline choices, hotels, Regular and Rooftop restaurants, Must see things to do, Taxi vs Uber, Virtual Sim reccs and trains? I'm looking for clean decent and safe hotels with a good breakfast, $300 a night max.

  • For Florence close to the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio
  • For Rome near La Fontana di Trevi / city center

Thank you in advance ! :)

The two links below have recommended itineraries from Rick Steves. Please review them and decide what is a "must see" for you.

You’ve made the decision to travel to Rome and Florence. Why?

Asking because there must be reasons you are willing to travel there.

What research have you done?

What are your interests? Food? History? Art? Architecture?

airline choices

What is your origin point?

Uber, as it exists in the US , does not exist in Italy. Taking a taxi is the solution if walking or public transit is not what you want to do.

Joe32F, the poster was referring to phones. Tablets and computers will show the search bar and magnifying glass.

OP, in addition to the previous links for itineraries and hotels, look at Google Flights for your flight options, then book directly with the airlines.

Getting a copy of an Italy guidebook would be a good idea. Also have a look at the Italy pages of the Explore Europe section of this forum is a good start.
