Solo traveler advice for Amalfi Coast

Hello-

I am thrilled to make my Italy trip alone this time and will be going to stay in Amalfi for 5 nights... Want solitude and to live like a local... Doing Air BnB... Most people on the forums seem to suggest that Sorrento is best choice and that appears to be b/c of the ease of transportation. Not necessarily my top concern or issue... No kids ... No agendas... Definitely going to tour the entire coast but at a very leisurely pACE... i am a foodie: however, and don't want to be so remote that I can't walk (i.e. Not hike) to dine and stroll.... I am thinking Ravello or Positano, maybe Atrani or Priano? Think "eat pray love" experience .....thanks.

Would vote Positano, though cost wise I think it is highest.
I think it would be just the right mix, Sorrento being too big, Atrani and Priano too small and not much to do. Ravello would be lovely but for a short stay only, as otherwise it is also too small

We stayed at an Airbnb in Atrani in 2014 for 3 nights. The nice thing about staying there is you can walk to Amalfi town in about ten minutes. But...there not being much else to do in atrani, all three nights we wandered to Amalfi...which on night two got a little boring. Don't get me wrong...I love staying in smaller places (I'm the one who stayed twice in corniglia...the smallest and least accessible of the five cinque terre villages)...but I think five nights in Atrani would have driven me to distraction. It is good for solitude tho!

Ravello was our favourite of the places we visited. If I had 5 nights tho, I would probably pick Positano just because there are more food choices and lots of nooks and crannies to explore. My ideal stay...when we return (and I hope to in the future) would be to spend 3 nights in positano and three in Ravello.

Sorrento is "best choice" if you want to sightsee - Pompeii, Herculaneum, Naples (archaeology museum is a wow) are easy by train, Capri by ferry, the Amalfi towns by bus. Doesn't sound like what you want to do, so skip it. Wish I could advise on which town - but I still haven't got to them, sigh. Sounds like a wonderful plan.
