Considering 2 Italy tours and wondered if there were solo travelers on these tours?
Until you receive your participant list a month before departure it’s impossible to know. You might get some pre-tour info if you call RS.
I think most tours have solo participants. On my South of France tour in September there were six solo travelers, me included. I’m solo again this year on Berlin, Prague & Vienna.
If you are worried about being solo, my group was very inclusive. But I’d recommend you plan things you want to see during free time; sometimes you'll join others, sometimes they'll join you, other times it's just nice to wander on your own. Same with meals, although I always had a dinner partner(s). Be proactive and ask. I paid the single supplement for both trips, partly because I need my down-time and partly because Covid was an issue this year so I felt less exposed.
Feel free to PM me if you want.
EDIT: Out of curiosity, which tours are you considering? I did South of Italy with my sister-in-law in 2019. Great tour in a lesser traveled region. There were several singles on that tour also.
I have traveled on 4 RS tours as a solo traveler. There were always at least 1-4 other solo travelers on each tour and as many as 7 on one. The truly nice thing about the people that I have encountered on each RS tour is the friendliness and inclusiveness of the group. Now this varies from group to group, but I have always felt welcome and included on each tour.
It is fun when there are other solo travelers. Sometimes they are eager to do things with others and sometimes, well they want to stay solo.... Either way, you will have a great time. The secret is to make the effort to reach out and get to know the others. Also, If you want to join someone else for lunch or dinner, speak up. One of my favorite couples on one tour never sat together at group meals. They said, "Oh, we sit together all the time at home. Here, we are interested in meeting others and learning about them."
I do recommend paying the extra for single supplement if you can. It is very nice at the end of the day to have your own space.
I have been on 8 RS tours as a solo. I have never been the only one, and have always felt comfortable, even as an introvert.
I do encourage you to be proactive at the beginning to let others know you welcome invitations to join them, unless you don't. 😁
