We are planning to be in Milan on April 5 when there is a match between AC Milan and Lecce. My daughter is a soccer player and huge AC Milan fan. Getting tickets to this match would be the highlight of her visit, probably. It seems that most people recommend getting the tickets the day before or day of the match. I'm considering ordering tickets on-line, though, because she would be so disappointed if they were sold out or something. Any suggestions?
I tried getting them the day of this past May in Rome at the stadium. Everyone I talked to said you could not buy them at the stadium before the game, but rather at official ticket shops. The Carabinieri even said you could not buy them at the stadium due to security issues (hooligans).
We stumbled across another American couple who was trying to do the same thing. Unfortunately, we did not get tickets and was the only dissappointing thing on our trip. May not be that way for Milan, but I wouldn't chance it. I will definitely buy tickets in advance on the next trip.
Try to get them in adavance, either online or in Milan at least the day prior. Good luck.
