I am looking to get tickets to a calcio/soccer match while in Italy in late September of this year on my honeymoon. My fiance is a soccer fanatic and I would like to surprise him. Can I buy tickets before I go? Do I just get them once we are there? Is there somewhere I can get the schedule of games?
Thanks!!
Tickets for domestic league and domestic cup matches rarely sell-out, so it you can usually buy tickets on the day of the match at the stadium box office. The only tickets you can buy in advance from brokers are Champions League matches and are very expensive-generally a couple hundred dollar a ticket. The top teams are AC Milan, Inter Milan, AS Roma, Lazio(Rome), and Juventus(Turin).
Marilyn,
You can check schedules onine at:
www.lega-calcio.it/eng/index.shtml to see if you will be in the right place at the right time to catch a game. If your fiance is a soccer fan, he will really enjoy attending any Serie A game in Italy--the games are great and the fans are unlike anything we have in the U.S.
