soccer match in Italy

Does it have to be a major match? I'd start researching each town to see if there are local teams who play in early June. I did this once when I wanted to see rugby in London. Emailed a team and asked if I could watch a match. Got the nicest reply, was invited to meet the team before hand and to join them afterwards for a pint in their local pub. One of my best travel experiences EVER. I looked up the Series D team in Venice http://www.fbcunionevenezia.com/ and their last match in June 6. This link shows all football clubs in Italy; You'll have look at their schedules to see if ANY have matches when you are traveling. Series C and D might be easier to get tickets to see. Worth effort if the girls are set on seeing some soccer.

Kaye the season ends May 13...so there will be no matches during your visit:( The next season won't start until Sept. Perhaps I'm a soccer snob, but I wouldn't waste valuable vacation time watching lower division (minor league) teams play.

I'm going to be in Italy in the beginning of May & hope to go to a Siere A game between Bologna vs. Napoli. Unfortunately for you the Siere A league ends around May 9. Looking at the Champions League & the Europa League which are the champions & runners-up of the various European leagues start their tournaments in July. It doesn't appear that the national team is playing in June either.

There's nothing going on in June as all the players take their vacations right after the season ends in May. Serie A starts in late August (August 25th this year) and there are plenty of friendly matches starting in July. Also, soccer is called "Calcio" here, not "football".
