Small Umbrian town for civil wedding ceremony?

My fiance and I are looking to be married in Umbria next Apr/May. We're planning on a small civil ceremony with at most 2 others in attendance. I'd like to do this is a smaller town, but one with a nice Comune (town hall), something a bit more off the beaten path. Also, preferably in northern Umbria. Any suggestions?

Also, if anyone has been married in Umbria and has a wedding planner they'd recommend, I'd love to hear. No direct advertisements from vendors please!

Cynthia: Cortona? Or is that not enough off the beaten path for what you're looking for? You said Umbria so I'm omitting the Tuscan hill towns. Click on the Graffiti Wall (above on this webpage) and look for the subject "Getting married in Europe", under the category "diverse travelers"--should be helpful to you on some of the important details, red tape, etc. Good luck and best wishes.

Contact Anne Robichaud. She is a guide in Umbria. She is fantastic and has a website at annesitaly.com. She can probably suggest all sorts of wonderful places for a wedding.
