Small, quaint restaurant in Venice?

We are arriving in Venice with our three kids on July 29 and would like a small restaurant to eat at - quaint, small - authentic if possible. We are staying at the Locanda Orseolo which looks like its just behind St. Marco's Square. Any ideas? Thanks!!

Marie - Been to Venezia a lot of times and even lived there for a short time. Just got back a couple of weeks ago and Birreria Ai Leoncini is where I always go!! 5 minute walk from San Marco - directions included! My friends Sabrina, Michel, and Palach will take Great care of you and the food is reasonable and Fabulous. We Italians do know how to cook!!!

How old are the kids? Could make a difference in the recommendation.

Ask the Locanda Orseolo staff (Alex, Igor, Gigi, Cristiano, David, Barbara, and Bruno) when you get there. They are very helpful. This is where I always stay while in Venice. You will LOVE the Locanda Orseolo! They will give you good recommendations for restaurants. I just can't remember the names of the restaurants right off-hand.
