Small group Forum/Palatine hill tour, Appian way tour

Hello,

We have rescheduled our May 2020 to September 2021, and are really thinking positive that it might happen (though have run in to issues already with American Airline tickets, a reminder of the need to be flexible). We were last in Rome in 2015 and did the underground Colosseum tour which we really enjoyed, but we toured the Forum and Palatine Hill with just our guidebook and felt we were missing things.

I'd love to re-visit those areas, but with only 3.5 days do not want to do the Colosseum again this trip. Wondering if anyone has toured these in a smaller group (I do not want to wear headphones) or done an affordable private tour that they could recommend?

Also, wondering if anyone has any small/private tour rec's for the Appian Way, we skipped this the first time around. We are pretty fit and open to walking or bicycling. We are 2 ppl, thinking up to 100E/person budget. Thanks!
