Slow day in Tuscany Tour/ Sienna/ Lucca

My wife and I are looking to break our week long stay in Florence this May with a few of day trips. We were thinking of a day trip to Sienna on the bus, a day in Lucca by train and one day away from the cities with the Slow day in Tuscany tour. Any advice or recommendations?

You mentioned my two favorite cities in that part of Italy...Lucca and Siena. I stay there 3-4 days each town....so a day trip would be a quick one. Lucca is flat, Siena is hilly. More to see in Siena. Would need to take a cab from the train station in Siena into the town. If you were to bus to Siena, the bus has a stop right at St. Catherine Church. If you go to Lucca by train, it is right across the street from the "walls" of Lucca. I bought wonderful leather purses in Lucca and delicious panatone in Siena. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Siena is a good day trip from Florence by bus and Lucca is a good day trip by train but do make sure to give Florence itself plenty of time, there is so much to see and experience your plan is a good one
enjoy!
