Sleeping in Vernazza

Hello,

I'm renting a car for my two week stay in italy and spending three nights in Cinque Terre (haven't booked location yet). My first question is what do I do with the rental car if I can't drive into vernazza? Or is there possibly a better location other than in vernazza to stay that offers parking.

Thank you in advance for any helpful info anyone can provide.

Andre - IOn Vernazza Please check out my friend Carla's website - Located Directly on The Harbour!!

As for parking - a small lot but , if you arrive during the week - usually no problem - OR you can drive down to Monterosso and park or even to La Spezia and take the local train back. But, as I mentioned the Vernazza lot is only about 500 meters above town and they have a shuttle for a couple of bucks if you don't want to walk it.

Enjoy, Greg

Greg, do you happen to know if this is the same Carla that runs the Cinque Terre Residence?

Andre,

We parked in La Spezia in late October. The lot in Vernazza is tiny. We could have probably found a place when we were there, but I wouldn't count on a spot in summer.

Monterosso has more parking than the other small towns.

When we parked in La Spezia, we didn't park near the train station, it looked a little unsafe. I found a spot near the gate to the Navy base (maybe 1/2 mile from the station).

Any word on how comfortable the beds are at nerinarooms?

Thanks,

We always park in Levanto (North of the Cinque Terre) and take the train in. Because we go in September, we can usually find free parking. There are pay lots as well. (where we park is one hour parking in the summer). It "feels" pretty safe, and we have never had a problem.

The website for nerinarooms does not give any information. I wonder why?
