We have a 7Am flight out of the Bologna Marconi airport this May~ I know Rick Steves talks about sleeping in the airports (and we are definitely on a budget, so it would help us save money!) I've checked sleepinginairports.com, they only have one review up, but it sounds positive. Does anyone have any personal experience at this airport? I'd love to hear about it, thanks!!

WE had an early flight from Bologna and tried to find a hotel close to the airport. I chose one by price and close to motorway(200 m. from exit II bis of city ringroad) Hotel Eden.. not good choice. Dirty and they forgot to call to wake us. We drove with no traffic to airport; got rid of car with no trouble(parke and leave key in slot)I think you could stay at any hotel on the outer ring and drive there with no trouble.

Thanks Susan, I have been looking into hotels nearby, since we aren't sure if sleeping in the airport might be a safety concern. However, we won't have a car. Any recommendations for hotels with a shuttle service?
