Can anyone recommend a great place to stay in Genova? We are arriving by car and we prefer a B&B. We'd like to be close to downtown but that's not terribly important. Since we have a car we are more free to move about.

i I would drive around the neighborhood you choose and watch for a zimmer sign in the yard. Find out what the Italian word is for room to rent.
I have done that in over 10 countries with success. Be sure you inspect any room before renting it.
As a last resort search google for "Genova B&B". You can read about them and see pictures as well as reading comments from travelers on some.
