I am planning on taking a sleeper train from Rome or Naples to Sicily. If I reserve a compartment from Rome can I pick the same train up from Naples instead if my plans change without a problem using the original reservation from Rome.

Buy Rome to Naples train separately from the Naples to Palermo sleeper. There are 3 to 4 trains an hour from Rome to Naples and it is not expensive and only takes an hour.

Yes there are sleeper services- 2 to and from Rome nightly (1 of which stops at Naples) and one from Milan and Florence.-

The overnight train business is so awake that new sleeper cars are on order for the routes to Sicily
