Hi all! I had a question, in many of the hotels I'm considering in Italy they mention having "Sky TV" as a selling point among their amenities. Can someone explain this category of TV -- will it offer any programming in English?

It's a pay satellite TV platform with lots of channels. It's equivalent to a US hotel offering cable TV. They don't have much English programming, in my limited experience.

It's like a US hotel saying they have Direct TV (cable).
The full list of Sky channels is below, there are also several English language channels like BBC, Discovery Channel, FoxNews etc., however it depends on the package the hotel has. Not all channels are available on all packages.

Thanks, Roberto and Mike. I had a feeling it wasn't exactly what I was looking for. I occasionally see hotels mentioning SMART TV and these would probably mean a guest could stream Netflix using their personal account info. This would be more up my ally.

Don't count to be able to access all contents of your Netflix account from a foreign IP address. For that you need a VPN service
