I do not know if this is in the latest editions, we have the 2015 book with us.
The costly Firenze card is not the only way to skip the lines for the Duomo sites. When you purchase your Duomo admission cards, you will also find kiosks that allow you without further fee to reserve times for entry into the Dome, the Bell Tower and the Baptistry (also the Museum, though likely not necessary). We just did these, you walk right in via the fast entry, worked fine.
I would also suggest that if you have made an online reservation for either the Uffizi or the Accademia that you check the admission line when you report 10 minutes prior to the advance ticket office. You may find that the regular line is short enough that you can skip paying for the reserved, it may only save 5 minutes.
