Skiing in the Dolomites

We are thinking about skiing in the Dolomites in the vicinity of Val Gardena in early February. Any suggestions for which town to stay in or any specific hotels?

Selva.
If you want to go 1st class, this place is fabulous. http://www.hotelgranbaita.com/en/hotel/welcome.html
A nice, more modest hotel with good food. http://www.desalpes.info/hotel-desalpes_eng.html

Always take the Half Board option that includes breakfast and dinner, always a good value.
The Hotel des Alpes is next to the main bus stop for buses to/from Bolzano. The owner, Prisca, is really sweet.

The Goalies' Pub is up the street for Irish pub type atmosphere. Alex the owner was goalie on the town's hockey team, is father of goalies, and now the grandfather of goalies. Dominik Hasek's signed jersey is on the ceiling ("He was here himself!").

It is a short walk up a gentle hill to the lift station right on the Sella Ronda ski circuit.

I just spent 4 nights at the Uhrerhof Deur just outside of Ortisei in a little place called Bulla. It's one of the best alpine inns I've ever stayed in. They only have about 17 rooms so the service is impeccable. They have a lovely spa on the lower level that I would LOVE having after skiing. Ski lockers, beautiful breakfasts and dinners (AMAZING DINNERS!!), close to the Seiser Alm and the area of the Dolomiti Superski area...
I stayed there on the recommendation of several people on this forum and they definitely steered me right! Gorgeous place...

We enjoyed a winter stay at Hotel Albion just outside of Ortisei. They shuttle you to and from the lifts in Ortisei and there is also a bus that stops right outside the hotel. Half-pension is the way to go. Great spa, too.

I have found these websites to be particularly useful. Also note that some guides name places in German "St. Ulrich" and some in Italian "Ortisei"...... which are the same place.

I have just booked our second annual getaway to Santa Cristina in val Gardena, which is a bit smaller than Ortisei, but has the advantage of a direct gondola up to the "Sella Ronda" route around the Sella Massif (with chairs/ski runs that take you on the 40km or so trip around the mountain mass). Others I know have liked the Badia area and San Cassiano.

Excellent skiing everywhere I have been.

Check out the Hotel Sun Valley in Selva. We stayed there in June and it is fantastic. The owners father was a champion skier. . Food is excellent and so is the service.
