Haven't skied Italy but Austria - Bad Gastien area - was great! Worked in a side-trip to Salzburg as well.

Courmayeur in the Aosta Valley is my favorite, Cortina is good as well. Been to almost all of them if you have other questions.

Although I am not a skier, we have visited and you may be interested in the Val Gardena in the Dolomites.
