We are booked for a Scavi tour in October. I read you cannot bring large bags or purses on the tour. I was wondering what size they think as large? I have a leather tote bag 14 x 16 I typically use when we travel.

That sounds pretty large. I know that they checked bag sizes, but don't know what the limit was.
I was able to carry my purse in, but it was fairly small (probably no larger than 8 x 10 x 2). The area is small and the bag needs to be something that stays close to your body. Could you leave your tote in the hotel and just bring a small purse for the day?

They will only allow the smallest of bags. Nothing bigger than a small clutch purse size. There is a storage area you can use while on the tour. Just get there about an hour early to store your things and get back to the scavi office to check in.
