Hi everyone, we will be 2 couples traveling to Lake Como in the third week of September. We are looking for a rental somewhere along the Lake, preferably mid lake. we have looked in all the usual places; ABnB, VRBO, Booking.com. Feel that we maybe missing some sites that will offer more than these do. Anyone who has had experience using alternative sites etc. would love to hear your advice. Thanks for the input!

We found our place by accident using Google Maps. It was between Mezzegra and Tremezzo, close to where Mussolini met his untimely end (should have been much sooner). It was called Il Portico ?, no longer on the market, but if you zoom in between those villages and elsewhere there are a number of apartment rentals which may not be advertised on any main rental site.

I find Italy in general, per region, is not geared for the holiday rental market like, say, the UK, France and Germany.

Varenna Holidays. I have not used this agency, but have walked past their office on the main road through Varenna multiple times.
