SITA bus ticket is hard to get?

I read that most of the shops used to sell SITA bus tix in Positano is no longer selling them. I do plan to use SITA bus when going back from Positano to Amalfi just to get the feel of riding the Amalfi Coast Road. in the morning i'd use the ferry amalfi to Positano. Also I'd do round trip Amalfi - Ravello.

Now, could I buy all the bus tickets I need from Amalfi shop (since I haven't heard any difficulty in buying tix from Amalfi) and use it for Positano to Amalfi route? from what i understand, the tix does not have a specified amount of time when bought? and the route could be used vice-versa even if bought in Amalfi and used for Positano - Amalfi route?

I checked in Unicocampania website for point of sale in Amalfi and find only 1 stated in the website: FLORIO MARINA

CORSO REPUBBLICHE MARINARE 1 - 84011 - AMALFI (SA)

I check in gmaps and it just points out to the area around Piazza Flavio Gioia??

Jen, I have a hunch that your concern is because of this post on TA from (mostly) last year?

https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g194863-i286-k10771534-HELP_Where_can_you_buy_a_SITA_bus_ticket_in_Positano-Positano_Amalfi_Coast_Campania.html

It's a bit odd as given the huge amount of tourists who visit every year, this is the only post I've personally ever seen regarding difficulty purchasing bus tickets in Positano. If it is an ongoing problem, I'd think there would have been many more complaints so I'm not sure you have anything to worry about.

What IS true is that you can't purchase tickets on the buses themselves, as the Positano.com website clearly states. Anyway, it could have been a temporary issue or some sort of confusion. Hopefully other recent travelers can provide reassurance that you and/or any other travelers to Positano reading this thread won't have a problem.

Editing to add: I see that this identical question was posted to TA this morning (by you?) so it'll be interesting to see what sort of info will be offered up there.

I feel very confident that SITA tickets are identical paper for the return journey. Certainly when we went (short trip) to Sant' Agata sui dui Golfi from Sorrento, I just bought two tickets from the shop outside the Circumvesuviana station. (Which is where those SITA busses line up.) Interestingly, this is the ultimate result of the (now in America ... ) urge for Government to "downsize" and "reduce headcount". It's unbelievable that there is no official sales booth in the bustling Sorrento terminus of the Circumvesuviana.

Hi Sam,

Thank You, the tabbachi is just next to my hotel. Perfecto! My hotel does not sell them and also refer me to a tabbachi but not telling it's just the next door one

Hi Kathy
yes, it's that post from last year around 6months ago though not that long. No other mention yet about the difficulty in buying SITA tix. you make a point there. but just in case, i'd buy all at once in Amalfi since Positano terrain is more difficult to reach.

Hi Tim,
So you also couldn't find SITA bus tix in its supposed to be reseller shop within the terminus? Did they tell you why they don't sell it any longer?

You might want to add up the total cost of your tickets and see if the 10€ 24 hour is close. It gives you unlimited travel and eliminates searching for a place to by tickets.
You just have to add your name and the date and only validate it once on your first ride.

Hi gerri,

my sita bus travel would be only for Amalfi - Ravello return EUR1.3 X 2 and Positano Amalfi EUR 2 (thinking of stopping for like half an hour in Furore beach near the bridge but being put off by the waiting time for the next bus). I think the Corso Semplice tix allow certain time of transfer too as long as the transport company used is still the same?
