Sita bus schedules

I am trying to find the bus schedule from Siena to Florence in English. I went on what I thought was the Sita website and downloaded where it tells me to do so, but then I ended up with something called "Inbox" and still can't find the bus schedule on that. Help! Thanks

dwarren,
Go to www.sienamobilita.it. On the upper right hand side of the page (gray sidebar), choose the British flag option to get English. Directly below, you will see the words "Search Timetable OnLine." Click the words (it's a link). The next page will be in Italian again. There is a red bar that says "Libretto deli orari in vigore e mappe delle linee" and under that, on the left, is a box labeled "extra-urban service." Click that, and you will get a 157 page PDF of the bus timetables. Just keep scrolling down--eventually you will find a page labeled 131R/A SIENA - FIRENZE (CORSA RAPIDE). I'm looking at the page right now, and buses leave Siena V. Tozzi (Piazza Gramsci) starting at 6:20 all the way through 20:45 with varying frequency. Evidently it's a simple thing to buy tickets at a tabacchi/tobacco shop.

I have not actually done this myself, but my family is taking a bus from Florence to Siena in a month. Hopefully it is as easy as I think it is!

That's a frequent bus, so you hopefully don't have to plan too closely. The link above looks good. for longer-distance buses, such as to Rome, see http://www.sena.it/Home/78-1-en.html. FYI, the Siena tourist information office recently moved from Il Campo to Piazza del Duomo, if you're checking in with them.

Thank you for the website. I was finally able to find out when the buses leave and the fast bus is only a little over 1 hour where the train is 1.5 hrs. and six stops. I wouldn't mind that except that we are going in to Florence to catch a train to Venice and don't want to be late.

dwarren,

When reading the bus schedules, be sure to note the small symbols such as the "crossed hammers" as some runs may only take place on work days. As I recall, it's also important to validate your tickets prior to boarding the Bus. Larger luggage items will have to go in the "hold" under the Bus.

That's a very easy trip, especially as it departs from the main part of Siena, rather than the bottom of the hill where the railway station is located. When you arrive in Florenze, it's only a short walk (about a block or so) to Firenze SMN rail station.

Thank you Ken. I saw the symbols above the timetables but did not know what they were. I went back on the site to look for an explanation of all symbols and could not find it. There are also schedules with a capital A in a circle and some that are SAB. Does anyone know what those symbols mean?
