Hello all! I'll be in Rome in mid December and curious if the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel will be open then. From what I've been told this (http://biglietteriamusei.vatican.va/musei/tickets/do?action=booking&codiceLivelloVisita=9&step=1) is the official ticket website but there is no option to get tickets for any of December. Perhaps it is too early?
Yes, you can only buy tickets 60 days in advance through the Vatican website. From their ticket site: Tickets may be reserved (with a maximum of 10) up to 60 days before the date of the intended visit. The Museums are closed the 8th, 25th, 26th, and all Sundays in December this year. For more help on the Vatican you might check out these hints, 20 tips on visiting the Vatican
