Sistine Chapel, December '13

Hello. I tried to organize a private after hours tour of the Vatican, but the tour operator (Helen at Italywithus) let me know that the Sistine Chapel is being cleaned / entrance renovated in December. Does anyone know the details and whether this is true? Will the Sistine Chapel be available for regular hours viewing? Many thanks.
