Sistine Chapel

From recent experience, what tour of the
Sistine Chapel worked well for you?

I'm also wondering what is the best way to just see the Sistine Chapel? We are not interested in the Vatican tour and would be happy to use Rick's audio tour and just see it on our own. Would love to just avoid as many long lines as possible in mid July!

Hello Bob,
Just a few days ago my fiance and I used the Rick Steves' audioguide which was very good. We also had a tour guide for the museum through the Vatican but it ended before we went into the Sistine. The Rick Steves' audio guide is free and is fairly detailed. You will enjoy the Sistine, also use the short cut if you can! Robert

We did an after hours tour since we don't like crowds. We didn't get to see every room in the Vatican Museums, but we liked the fact that we weren't crowded in with thousands of other people! That was the perfect tour for us.
