Sistene Chapel

I'll be in Rome in November and want to see the Sistene Chapel. Anyone know of a less crowded time to go? Thanks

The late afternoon tends to be less crowded.

I was recently in Rome and visited the Vatican and did a tour that started at 12.30. We did have to queue for about 20 minutes but the line seemed to move pretty quickly. Afternoons tend to be quieter and the guide told us that Tuesday was the best day of the week to go.

We have had the best luck an hour before closing.

I know everyone is saying afternoon, but I would disagree. I visited the Sistine Chapel twice this past winter (I was there for three months), and my best luck was when I got in line before the Vatican Museums even opened. I was then able to go straight to the Sistine Chapel and actually sit on one of the beneches and admire Michelangelo's works. Then, I could circle back around and see other parts of the museums at my leisure.
