Need to get from Siracusa to Catania Airport on a weekday. I see there is a bus on the "AST" system, but the website is only in Italian so I can't tell the route times and pickup point in Siracusa (staying in Ortigia without a car). Does anyone know how frequently that bus travels this route or any other helpful information?

I found the schedule for the AST bus on Rome2Rio.com in English. Looks like about 9 per day.

The journey is 1hr 15min.
The bus picks up from in front of the Siracusa train station (the farthest point from the front door of the station). In case it matters for you: a private taxi from your Siracusa/Ortigia hotel to CTA should be 50 euros; at least that was the cost in Apr 2019.

I don't think you need to know Italian to figure out the website, just use Google translate (I can see a dropdown box on my screen to translate into English). Using a dummy date, the bus runs every half to one hour to Catania Airport, so you could could count on a bus on the top of the hour. I wouldn't bother with a private transfer, the bus is inexpensive and nice.

The bus location is very close to the Siracusa train station. A guidebook should point you to the right place, or you could ask once you're on the ground (dov'è il stazione degli autobus?)
