Day Trip to Siracusa suggestions?

Hi,

On our trip to Taormina, we are thinking of taking the train to Siracusa for a day trip - yes, not enough time for Siracusa! But given only a day trip, any suggestions on what can be seen in the day? maybe logistics advice, etc?

In Siracusa, the Greek Theater, more impressive than the one in Taormina. Go to Ortigia Island , Siracusa’s historic center. Visit the Duomo which includes columns from the Greek temple which preceded it. The Piazza Duomo is one of the most beautiful in Europe.
