Single woman looking for Rome hotel

Hi, I'm going to be traveling to Rome alone, arriving Nov 9 and leaving Nov 12. I'm looking for a safe and clean hotel under 70 Euros. I'm going to be arriving at the airport about 8 pm, so I'll need to take the train into town and it might be pretty late by the time I get to a hotel (concerned about safety, especially with walking from Termini somewhere). Anyone have good suggestions? Thanks!

Yes, try the Beehive but don't take a taxi from Termini! It's only 3 blocks from the station. An honest taxi driver would probably refuse he ride because it's such a short ride(you'll be fine walking). Or a driver may drive you all over town before arriving at the Beehive.

We stay at Hotel Aberdeen (vg brfast and rooms)in Ricks book. They have discounted rates in winter so it may work for you.
It is 3 blocks walk from Termini and safe, this is why I stay here. The hotel is across the street from a miltary/police station and there are banks and good/reasonable restaurants within half block. you can walk to many sights from this location all in safe areas to spanish steps, trevi, catch buses at termini etc. just be aware of your environment almost anywhere in Rome. Pickpockets are everywhere. and halkers are at Termini just ignore them or say NO and walk off. we are 2 females in our 50's it worked perfect for us except for the rip off taxi drivers.

Hi Monika

I just returned from a solo trip to Italy where I stayed in Rome for 4 nights.

I stayed at Hotel Panda in a small double for 78 euro a night (they have singles that are cheaper, but they were full when I booked). I chose this hotel because, traveling alone, I wanted to stay somewhere super populated in order to feel safe at night - and the Hotel Panda is literally 2 blocks away from the Spanish Steps, so there are ALWAYS people around. The cab ride from the termini station was 10 euro.

I thought Hotel Panda was really cute, clean, and the people were super nice. I have also heard really good things about the Beehive. Good luck!

Monika, I would also recommend Hotel italia. It's a 15 minute walk from Termini station - but you could take a taxi when you arrive in the evening.

I believe your dates fall in to the low season rates, so this should fit your budget.
