SIM cards in Bologna airport, TIM company preferred.

I’ll be in Italy for a few months and wanted to get a SIM card so I can have an Italian phone number.
I will be landing in Bologna. Is there a TIM booth in the Bologna airport?
Grazie!!

If you have never used Vodafone you might be surprised of how much better it is than TIM. Typically more stores, better service, and the best and strongest data for walking around directions.
According to the BLQ site, the Forexchance sells Vodafone sim, but I would only buy from
a Vodafone or TIM store store. The Marconi express is an efficient way to get to Bologna where you can both SIM providers.

What kind of phone do you have? You might be able to get an e-sim, in which case you wouldn't need to visit any physical stores

I second the esim option as it is so easy and you can take care of it before you go. My older iPhone (an 11) handles them easily, and I usually just get an Orange esim which gives me a French number, but not really a big deal.

thanks cafetista and periscope, I have had good experiences with TIM but might also look at Vodafone.
OR, from edward and Tom: E-SIM. re e sim, can I get an Italian number? I'll be there for a while and although my friends in Italy use WhatsApp, sometimes I need people to call me directly on an Italian number..
I'm an experienced traveler but terrible with technology so any help re: e sim much appreciated!.

Will you be staying in Bologna? There is definitely a TIM store in the historical center.

Yes Becky, will be near Bologna city center. Will look for a TIM store there! Thanks.
And BTW; I know Vodofone is good too but I already have a TIM app and am used to it. Also, the place I will be staying in for 2 months after Bologna, I know TIM will work in the apartment so I'll stick with them.

Looks like there are at least 7 TIM stores on the google map of Bologna.
I prefer TIM in Italy as well…..except Sicily, where it wouldn’t work at all!
Had to go back and change it for Vodafone there.
