I have an unlocked phone that I would like to purchase a sim card for while in Sicily. I mainly want this to use the phone as a GPS - does anyone have any advice or suggestions on this top. Leaving soon please respond quickly if you can be of assistance. Thank you so much in advance.

Find a Vodafone store or authorized dealer once you get there and ask for a Vodafone Holiday plan, which are designed for foreign visitors to Italy. 30€ total and your smart phone will have all capabilities you have at home. That's what I get every year each time I go. Vodafone has the best 4g LTE coverage in Italy. Details are below

I used the Vodafone plan Roberto suggested, worked perfectly. You can default to English, but texts from Vodafone will still be in Italian.
