SIM card

hello everyone
I live in Western Canada (Alberta) and I’m wondering if there is anyone that has gone to Italy lately and downloaded a virtual Sim card to get unlimited Internet.
Please tell me which one is the best to download for my spouse and I, as we are going to multiple cities in Italy
Thank you in advance

Have a look at the Airalo eSIM if you want data, not phone. It was easy, inexpensive, and seamless on arrival on our trip last month. DH lost his mind and bought 10 G for 30CAD. He used it for maps, internet, and messaging daily, and only used 2G in 3 weeks.

Second vote for Airalo eSIM. I used this last year in Italy for data only. Inexpensive, easy to install and activate. I have learned from my trip to Italy not to over purchase on the data. I would buy based on the recommendations (Airalo sells by date with a set amount of data). It is really easy to add more capacity if you need it. We used it for navigation, search, and What'sApp.

You can check on the website in advance if your phone is supported as I believe you need an unlocked phone.

Check out esimdb.com for a very extensive list of suppliers. Airalo is reliable, but their products are priced at a substantial premium.

I’m currently using Truely. They had great customer service when I had questions.
Very fast and helpful. It was so easy to install with a QR code that I wasn’t sure I had even done it.
I had a setting wrong and they helped correct my mistake. It seems so cheap that I wondered, but we get screwed by Rogers roaming charges ($20/day!!) that I knew there had to be a better way ($30 for a month!)

I recently returned from a visit to UK, Italy and Slovenia. For the first time I decided to go with an esim. I saw lots of recs here on the forum for Nomad and Airalo. I went with Airalo, getting a 30 day European regional esim since I was going to be in three different countries. It worked well in all three countries, was easy to purchase and install and later top up. It is a data only esim. I then used Whatsapp and Facetime for my calls. I thought the cost was very reasonable.
