We have decided to spend our last night right near the airport before our flight out the following morning. Are there sights near the airport that are worth seeing once we drop our luggage at the hotel? Do you have any suggestions on things to see close by, other than Ostia Antica (we are taking a day trip with a group tour to see it earlier in the vacation)?

I don’t remember any real sites near the airport (other than Ostia Antica), but we have enjoyed spending our last night on thr coast nearby. When we had a car rental we stayed in Lido right along the water. Great walks and views and fun seafood dinner. In the moro, a short drive to the car return and airport departures. If no car, maybe say at one on the b&b 2-3 km west of airport. Most car arrange airport transportation. The walk to the coast as about 2 km.

We won't have a car, so will need to rely on bus, transit, or taxis. What is the neighborhood like between the airport and the coast?

Oh, yes. We are staying at the Hilton Rome Airport.

We checked into FCO Hilton, dripped off our luggage, drove to nearby Ostia Antica, returned the car at FCO, walked to Hilton.
