If I have purchased an Opa Si Pass do I need a separate ticket to see the Cathedral Floors? Is it possible to get a reserved time to view the floors?
There is a six-week period each year when the entire floor is uncovered, starting in mid-August. If you’re visiting the Cathedral outside of this time period (with whatever type of pass), you can still see quite a bit of the floor, and it’s quite spectacular.
I was there 10+ years ago and they were not covered.
I hope you get to see them.
@inbsig thanks for your info. 6 weeks from mid August.. hmmmm
I just looked at my tour itinerary and will be there Sept. 14. Fingers crossed!
Love to see this. I’ve been combing all of the tour scrapbooks pre tour and really looking forward to this. Can’t believe it’s just another week before I leave for my RS “Best of Italy in 17 days” tour!
Enjoy, Lisa g! I loved the Siena Cathedral. Yes, the floors are beautiful, and so is the ceiling - spectacular! Also, be sure not to miss the side chapels and the Piccolomini Library.
I purchased the Opa Si Pass for Sept 17th. It had two options. The whole building which includes the floors. Or one that includes the whole building plus the Stairway to Heaven. I purchased through the church's site. Looks absolutely amazing and can't wait.
