We are arriving from Venice next Sunday evening. We will take the train to Florence. From there--either the train or bus (which seems to be the better choice!). We need to get to our Villa which is 5km away. Are there taxis at the train/bus? What would be the best choice for station/type of transportation to Villa?? Thanks!

I would ask the owner of the villa or the rental agency for recommendations. They would be far more familiar with the situation than anyone here.

I would stay on the train to Siena. I don't remember any taxi stands at Piazza Gramsci where the bus stops but there is a taxi stand at the train station.

Thanks for the train suggestion! We did speak to RentVillas and were referred to the contact person-who does not speak English! I did not think that a call would be too productive! We were told that he could arrange a driver for 20 Euros. Is that about right for 5km? I think that using a taxi would be easier and could not be more expensive. Would appreciate any further thoughts!

Sandy, I think 20 euro for a private driver is reasonable, a taxi should be a little cheaper.
My first thought was won't you need transportation once at the villa.
