Go from Siena to Florence-FLR or Pisa-PSA. Fly to Sicily. Sicily Airports: Palermo-PMO ; Catania-CTA ; Trapani-TPS. Airlines choices: FLR-CTA=Alitalia FLR-PMO=Volotea PSA-CTA=Air Italy PSA-PMO=Ryanair

Elizabeth, you can use Skyscanner and Whichbudget to search for direct flights between Florence and Catania or Palermo. You will be flying one of the numerous lo-cost airlines that ply the EU. Pay careful attention to luggage restrictions, weights, etc. We have flown into and out of Catania many times on many of these arlines, and really enjoy the quick flights.
