Siena to Rome--Train or Bus?

We will be arriving in Siena via the bus from Florence (many thanks for the advice!), but what suggestions do you all have for Siena to Rome? We are staying near the Colosseum and its Metro line, if that matters at all.

Thank you so much!

I took the bus because it is much closer than the train station, takes about the same amount of time, and a bit cheaper. It takes you to the tiburtina train station, where you can on the metro which can take you directly to the colosseo metro stop quick and easy.

I really like taking buses in Italy - the long distance ones are comfortable, "charter" style, and air conditioned. Not always the case with Italian trains. You are traveling a fairly direct line so it won't take much longer than a train.
