Hello - we are staying in Siena in mid-July and would like to take a day trip to Pisa. What's the best way to get there and back and do you have any other suggestions or tips for visiting Pisa?

See schedules, change in Empoli. These are regional trains, so tickets purchased in Italy need to be validated [date-stamped] before boarding; not validated if bought on the web site, in which case they are good for 4 hours from the selected time. Lots to see:
