Siena to Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport

I am going to be staying in Siena from October 21 - October 24, 2016. I am flying out of the Fiumicino Airport at 3:30 on 10/24/2016. I was told there is a bus from Piazza Gramsci to Fiumicino, but I am having trouble finding where to reserve tickets. I found tickets at http://www.sitbusshuttle.com/en/nuovo-collegamento-siena-aeroporto-di-fiumicino-roma/ but I'm not sure if this is the correct bus. I am wondering if I would be better off heading to Rome the day before the flight or if I should take the bus the day of, assuming I can get tickets. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

As a matter of personal policy, I like to spend the night before my flight closer to the airport. So, in your shoes, I would have gone to the farthest point first and I would have ended my trip in Rome for the last few days.

Having said that, your flight is sufficiently late that you could make it from Siena. However you don't specify where your flight is going, because that would determine how long before departure you need to be at the airport.

Consider also that there are more frequent buses from Siena to Roma Tiburtina station with the Sena company. Then from Tiburtina there are regional trains to FCO. I see that the shuttle in the link you provided is only one bus in the morning at 06:15.

The question is - is your flight a direct flight to Boston - that means processing in Terminal 5 and more time. At the airport no later than 12.30 (1230) at that time of day. If a connecting flight to somewhere else in Europe, then you could be an hour later or so.

Your flight is probably Alitalia AZ 614 to BOS departing from T3.
You need to be there about 2 hours prior to departure. Another option is going to Florence by bus in the morning (75 min) then taking one of the numerous high speed trains to Rome Termini (90 min). Then from Rome Termini there is the Leonardo Express that takes you to FCO in 32 min (departures every half hour). Still at least 4 hour trip, when everything is said and done, however you don't need to be at the airport before Noon or even 1pm, therefore you could leave Siena a bit later than the shuttle you linked.

We have a rule that we are within a cab ride of the airport for a high stakes flight -- we come in the night before. Stuff happens. We travel a lot and have been on a high speed train that came in 5 hours late on a 3.5 hour trip. Not common but not impossible. Siena to Rome is a difficult trip and there isn't a lot of plan B if something goes awry. I'd come in the night before and get a hotel near Termini and take the train to the airport after enjoying a stroll in historic Rome that morning. And I would be at the airport 3 hours before an international flight to the US.
