Siena to La Spezia

Easiest way ( bus or train ) to get from Siena to La Spezia?

I think there is a bus that goes from Siena to Pisa but I don't think it goes to La Spezia. For the train, it's a 3hr journey from Siena to La Spezia Centrale with a train change at Empoli. The fare on the Regionale train run (cheapest) is 10.70E.
