Venice to Siena to Assisi

My husband and I are taking a Rick Steves tour that ends in Florence. We will be taking the train from Florence to Venice to stay in Venice. From Venice we would like to visit Siena and Assisi, and will then return to Rome for our flight home from Rome.

I need advice on how to travel, maybe a combination of train, bus, rent a car.

From Assisi, should we take the train from Perugia to Rome?

Should we wait and ask our RS Tour Guide to help us with best travel arrangements?

Thank you
Mary Beth

Siena would be easiest to visit from Florence
Can you extend your Florence stay or head to Siena rather than Venice?

Here us a similar question addressing transportation from Siena to Assisi

From Assisi take direct train to Rome-no need to go to Perugia for that route

Rome2rio.com is a handy tool to see what your options are
Play around with it a bit to see what best order will be

But buy your tickets on the actual Trenitalia
website site

I would want confirmed lodging reservations earlier than last minute during your tour

If you want to go to Venice, that is easy, just know that you will have to back track to Florence to get to Siena.
